Summary

LIMA, PERU – TagMaster North America, in partnership with Intellisoft, provided a hands-free Automatic Vehicle Identification (AVI) solution as part of Jorge Chavez International’s effort to enhance security for Peru’s largest airport.

Challenge

Jorge Chavez International (JCIA) bills catering concessionaires for each vehicle’s duration of stay in the aircraft area. Previously, this process required labor intensive visual observation and hand calculation of each vehicle’s entry and exit times, leading to long billing cycles while calculations were reviewed and verified. Intellisoft, tasked with streamlining this process, chose to rely on TagMaster North America for an RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) solution.

Solution

TagMaster North America deployed a platform of LR-6 Pro Long-Range Readers and read/write enabled S1251 ScriptTags to ensure 100 percent accurate AVI and length of-stay reporting. A vehicle’s Tag is read automatically as soon as it enters the aircraft area, its unique identity is verified against the database, and it is timestamped. This Tag is read again upon exit to determine an accurate length-of-stay.

Conclusion

TagMaster North America’s reliable RFID AVI platform virtually eliminated billing disputes and long billing cycles, increasing both revenue and security for Jorge Chavez International Airport. Visual observation and hand calculation tasks are no longer necessary. The end result is a fully automated solution that improves business processes while increasing customer satisfaction.
