All-in-One LPR Solution

CS-50 Installation photoSummary

TagMaster North America, Inc., a leading provider of advanced identification solutions, recently installed an all-in-one license plate recognition (LPR) solution for a high-end residential community in South Carolina.

Challenge

Previously, the 190-home community relied on HD surveillance cameras for security purposes. This security system proved to be inefficient and unreliable. If security personnel wanted to identify a vehicle of interest that had entered the community, they had to painstakingly comb through footage from the surveillance cameras.

The process required personnel to fast-forward, pause, and zoom in on footage in order to identify vehicles, and only occasionally would they be able to decipher the license plate characters of the vehicles in question. If vehicles entered the community after dark, their plates could not be identified.

The HOA members were concerned about their safety and security and wanted a more reliable way of identifying vehicles of interest.

Solution

To address the community’s concerns, TagMaster NA deployed the CS-50 LPR camera with JetManagementSuite (JMS) software, an all-in-one access solution installed at the community’s entrance. The LPR solution provides high accuracy, high resolution, automatic captures of vehicles’ license plates as they enter the community.

The CS-50 is a two-cameras-in-one solution, featuring both an infrared (IR) and a color overview camera within a single housing. The combination of the IR and overview cameras allows the CS-50 to provide accurate plate reads even for difficult-to-read plates, such as damaged, non-reflective or partially reflective plates. Additionally, the IR camera provides accurate plate reads 24/7, so residents can rest assured plates will be captured with the highest possible accuracy, day or night.

Authorized security personnel can effortlessly configure the camera settings and access the vehicle logs via the user-friendly web-based interface, saving personnel time and increasing efficiency. Additionally, the solution can be configured to auto-generate email alerts for vehicles of interest, such as vehicles on the BOLO list, improving oversight and security. With its dual cameras, an onboard OCR engine, onboard processing, and no additional server required, the CS-50 offers the community a small hardware footprint and a robust performance.

Conclusion

With the TagMaster NA LPR solution in place, license plates are captured automatically as vehicles enter the residential community, and the JMS software records information such as plate numbers, entrance times and plate images within a database. Security personnel now have a reliable and convenient way to know who’s coming and going—a vital tool for ensuring the security and safety of residents—and residents now enjoy peace of mind in addition to convenient, frictionless access to their community.
