Summary
BOSTON, MA- Logan International Airport’s Green Bus Depot required an RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) solution to facilitate both long-range vehicle identification as well as personnel access via proximity readers, all within a high-security environment. The Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) chose to employ a TagMaster North America RFID system for its ease of use and high-functioning reliability.
Challenge
Logan International Airport decided to utilize TagMaster North America’s platform for managing its eco-friendly airport buses in part due to TagMaster’s embedded ACTS (Access Control Tracking System) software solution. ACTS Essential, powered by ArmID, can control two TagMaster readers from a user-friendly web interface. When each Tag is read, it is verified against the database, time stamped, and logged. The streamlined web interface features downloadable reports and the ability to open and close gates from within the program. ACTS Software, paired with TagMaster’s cutting-edge line of Tags and Readers, offers the ability to optimize the access control or parking system of any airport while heightening both security and efficiency.
Solution
In partnership with Scheidt & Bachmann, as well as HID for proximity access control, TagMaster North America implemented a system of two LR-6 Pro Long-Range Readers, S1355 MarkTag ODU (Outdoor Use) Tags, and ACTS Essential software for an all-in-one solution.
Conclusion
Logan Airport’s Green Bus Depot now operates more efficiently and securely than ever, even during Boston’s harsh winter months. TagMaster North America is proud to have provided another unbeatable RFID solution in an airport context.
